A Word from the Author

All my books are very deer to me. I am happy to announce that my next book, HIM, After the UFO Crash, will be published in a few weeks. By Sarah Book Publishing in Texas, who also published All-Father. And All-Father is VERY dear to me! It was published as Alvader by De Arbeiderspers in Amsterdam. I read lots of books about the German tribes, about superstition and folk tales of Northern Europe before I started to write All-Father. One really believed that Wodan and his Army of the Dead rode the skies when there was thunder and lightning. And then book is also about a copywriter (Peter Jonker) with magic gifts – everything he writes about, comes true. I have been a copywriter myself and loved it to write text for all kinds of companies. It is also about a boy and his fear for the work of a Rembrandt-like painter. The boy becomes so afraid, that he almost dies. Then he finds a way to defend himself: what he writes down, is bound to happen. Later he becomes that copywriter. But then people are on his heels who will claim that he is a murderer. The horror from his youth comes back, he fears Wodan, bloody Berserkers, the Army of the Dead. So many people have been killed. Did he, Peter Jonker, do that? Brought under hypnosis, he tells the stunning truth… After All-Father I started writing another book with the same atmosphere, called Wolf Tears. Also published in The Netherlands by De Arbeiderspers in Amsterdam and soon Sarah Book Publishing will come up with the English translation!

Know More

Peter Jonker has special gifts at his disposal. As a provoked, frightened child, he has come under the spell of master painter Poolman and his evocative, terrifying canvases. Poolman has spun gory tales about Wodan, god of the Germanic tribes, and the fearless Scandinavian berserkers. And now it seems Peter has seen the magic truth behind those sagas. In his agony he discovers unknown talents, and soon it is said he has the possession of immortal powers!
Haunted by the fantasies of his youth, the adult Peter is going downhill, and in his vulnerable state strangers intervene trying to reach their own dubious goals by taking advantage of him.
Wodan is looking for him and wants him to join the Army of the Dead – Berserkers who carry death and destruction… Peter’s life becomes a choking nightmare. Is he responsible for the death of four people, or being set up by unknown forces? Brought under hypnosis, the horrible truth may come out…

Our Review

Certainly one of the best paranormal mystery books I have read in a while, I especially like the Nordic myth that is mixed in. The author, Koos Verkaik did an awesome job with the characters – with their faults and virtues we can feel like we are there with them going through the same emotions.

Imagine there is this guy who when he was kid went through some traumatic experiences and suddenly finds out he has phenomenal supernatural gift which will make him rise above all the problems and be a successful man. Well, that is what he thought would happen but things are never that easy are they? With such a gift comes a terrible responsibility – will he be able to refrain from using it to harm others?

I would like to thank the author for the free copy he graciously supplied circleofbooks.com with.
