A Word from the Author

The plot for this book was inspired by the collapse of the speculative property market in Spain from 2008 onwards. Hundreds of property developers went bankrupt after the burst of an unsustainable construction bubble; at one time Spain was pouring more concrete than all the other European countries combined. Many unscrupulous developers disappeared with cash paid as deposits by home buyers, this is a fictitious account of such a developer. The backdrop for the plot is mainly set in the area of Spain where I live.
