Know More

In Book One of this hot new sci-fi technothriller short story serial from Amanda J. Banner, it’s modern police procedural meets genetic manipulation when the leader of the Los Angeles Police Department’s special “Clean the Streets” task force, former US Army Ranger Rick Talbach, goes missing without a trace. It’s up to his acerbic partner, Detective Bobby Mason, and the rest of their close-knit team, to piece together his whereabouts.

Bobby winds up three thousand miles away searching for the man who’s become his best friend as well as the guy who has his back. And he finds Rick, all right. But what he finds isn’t entirely human – if he thought his partner was a superhero before, this is a whole new ballgame. And Bobby’s definitely not making it out of this unscathed, either…

A Word from the Author

author-amanda-j-banner-avatar“Morph” is a conglomeration of many loves of mine. It all started back when I was a kid watching “The Incredible Hulk” and continued with the watching of the plethora of copshows that have been around for years. My love of the Hulk and my enjoyment of “standard” modern police procedurals all combined to pull “Morph” out of my twisted imagination.

I love the idea of someone who is forced to become something against their will. What will that person do with the hand they’ve been dealt? How will they handle the godawful situation that’s been thrust upon them? And what will their closest friends do, how will they react?

I also like complex plots rather than straight A and B story lines, and I think “Morph” reflects that preference for more than just two things going on at any time. Layer upon layer upon layer of conspiracy may be more difficult to keep straight and therefore to write, but I do hope I’ve done it justice with this new short story serial!
