An alluring and beautiful, yet psychotic female serial killer builds a group of other active serial killers and initiates a cult of believers following her expertise.

When notorious serial killer Mona Pruitt is locked up in a mental hospital, the FBI calls former Chicago detective Nathan Pearson to consult on the case. Having since withdrawn from the police life, Pearson was romantically involved with Pruitt before her arrest, then Pruitt murdered a man and painted a portrait of his death at Millennium Park.

Nathan just wants to move on with his life and leave the police life behind him. But with serial killer Mona Pruitt, also his ex-girlfriend, being locked up in a mental hospital for painting a portrait of a dead male at the center of Millennium Park, is going to force him back into the life he swore he left behind. When FBI agent Melissa Thornton shows up at his home to recruit him, he’s going to have to fight his distaste for law enforcement and saving lives.

Soon Nathan finds himself on someone’s hit list. But he’s not the only target. Mona is too, and Nathan quickly learns nothing is as it seems. One thing is clear: Nathan has to visit Mona, she is still obsessed with him, and she may be the only one who truly knows what is going on. Now, as the death toll starts to rise and time running out, somebody close to Nathan or Mona is on the line, Nathan knows his only chance is to keep visiting Mona. But Mona will prove how horrifying and unpredictable she can be while locked up.

This all leads to a twisted and shocking turn of events that will make Mona Pruitt the next deadly famous artist.

Portrait of Death is the first in a brand new series and is a fast paced dramatic thriller. This is a new and different take that separates itself from other serial killer books.

A Word from the Author

author Greg Ryan picturePortrait of Death is the first in a brand new series and is a non-stop thrill ride. I always want my readers to go into my books with accurate expectations of what to expect. To not be intentionally misled just to buy the book as I have often seen. What readers can expect from my books are stories that haven’t been told yet. I want my readers to read something new, something fresher, and not something that has already been written before by other authors. We seem to live a publishing world where people tend to focus too much on what others have written. So I try to stay away from that and branch out on what I feel is a unique approach to telling a good story. I recommend reading my series in order starting with Portrait of Death. Followed by Portrait of Pain.
