Know More

One boy…one Rite… And a world of deadly secrets that could change the course of history—forever

And so begins the tale of Mierta McKinnon. When a horrible fate reveals itself during his Rite of Wands ceremony, he must find a way to change not only his destiny but also the land of Iverna’s.

Forbidden from revealing the future he foresees to anyone, he is granted a wand and his magical powers, but still must master the realm of magic in order to save himself and those he loves.

But Mierta is not the only one with secrets…especially when it’s impossible to know who to trust

A Word from the Author

Author McKenzie Flohr pictureMeet Mierta McKinnon – a 12-year-old boy, who is a wizard, but has not yet gained his powers. In order to do so, he goes through what is called the Rite of Wands ceremony, which is a little like Christmas Carol; you get to see a glimpse of his past, present, and future. Specifically, in his future, Mierta sees something that disturbs him and he becomes rather obsessed with wanting to change it. If you could change your destiny even though its already been written, what would you do to change yours? The Rite of Wands is more than just a test; it will dictate your fate.
