On a whim, feisty Tabitha takes a trip to the future with her trusted friend Milt, an awkward Science professor. Wonders and curiosities abound. However, their amusing journey soon becomes a challenging maze of difficult decisions. When an unplanned detour occurs, the two set events into action that may save one life and yet destroy another. Can these friends of completely different mindsets agree on a course of action? Amid the backdrop of a future that reveals great wonders and horrors, Detours in Time starts as a fantastic escape and grows to present many moral dilemmas and surprises that can either destroy the strongest friendship or bring two people closer.

A Word from the Author

Author Pamela Schloesser Canepa pictureI started writing Detours in Time for fun and an imaginative getaway from reality. It will certainly take you on a journey. However, some elements of me are definitely threaded throughout this book, such as the importance of family, friendship, and love. There is a friendship with the potential for love in this story. This book is not a sci-fi romance, but the main characters, Pinky and Milt, learn a lot about each other and even grow as people during this book. There are also a lot of ethical dilemmas involved. Our characters have to decide if they are royally screwing things up just by showing up where and when they do. They don’t just go to 2047, they accidentally get knocked back, and from there, the trouble ensues. As the characters say to each other, time is not always a neat, straight line. In their circumstances, time is a loop.

Sobrenatural : supernatural surrealistical scary stories  by Samir Karimo.

Get ready to enter in a supernatural world where nothing is not what it seems: who is valkyrie? Is D. Juan a demon or an angel?, who is UMBRAE?, Fear the killing nose! Find out the true story of Frankenstein and little red riding hood? Life and death are friends or sisters? What is a killing selfie. Don’t miss it with a cover by Juan Miguel Aguilera.

A Word from the Author

Author Samir Karimo pictureIn this book, which is the english version of the portuguese and spanish ones, I tried to create something different. Through the book you will find new words, and other strange things, even the title is SOBRENATURAL and not Supernatural because I wanted to make this book more exotic. The book cover was made by the ESFS Awards winner JUAN MIGUEL AGUILERA. By using characters well known by the reader you have to imagine that you are having a dream, or nightmare, in which nothing is normal, rather is “out of natural”. Although the stories are mostly of the flash type, there are two bigger and they are “Valkyrie” in which I make a kind of tribute to ancient Indian, Greek stories. It’s a story about a man who buys a damned house in which lives a she-demon, an IBlisia, who wants to get his body, soul and aura in order to get younger. But to fight her, his aura will search from sorcerers and will try to get a special pill to revert the “statueing” process. The main character calls Vikramodisseus who is a tribute to Vikram, from Vikram and the vampire and Odysseus from Odyssey. The other big story is dedicated to D.Juan and it calls “Seducer’s Journal” in which the reader will find the origin of D.Juan’s Myth. He was a young man who sold his soul to a devil and so he had to sacrifice beautiful young woman whose blood he has to drink to feed a special parasite which lived in his brain.
Other flash stories are The unbearable lightness of being… in which a person has personality disorders and an HYDIAN (from Mr. Hyde) virus will try to make him more crazier.
In Dulcinea, what a hell of a girl imagine this girl having a flirt with a snake and living in a grave.
In Imagine a day… the final sentence of the text corresponds to the final sentence of the title and that’s why is a “overlapped” story , a real surrealistically one in which you will find Oscar Wilde as D.Juan’s attorney and literature’s undertakers and other strange characters searching for the true about what is Literature.
In Sideral santa claus and Christmas golden drop, based on jason’s golden fleece, Santa Claus will search for the golden drop to restore the Christmas spirit. To do it he has to speak with the three Kings’ cousins who have the special Christmas ingredients.
In Harlequin Carnavalin you will find the Mardi Gras Alien God who lands in Venice to better know our traditions, but in this special day he will find a special robotic woman who will seduce him.
About the pre texts, “a neologism specially created to this book” there are several ones.
The first is “damned words”, a tribute to kafka stories in which Words are chasing people.
In Shadows, the Umbrae (alien shadows) are searching recipients for their body.
In Destination we find a strange talk between Life and Death.
In Pain an alien species will try to invade us through our kidney.
In Vetala we will find out the true story about the dinosaur’s extinction and how it’s related to vampyres (vetala, sanscrit word to vampire) and count’s Dracula armor.
in little red riding wood and Frankenstein finally those characters will reveal who actually they are, one is descendent of a werewolf and other will travel through dimensions to get his body parts back.
In killing nose, an ancient alien king will ally to Jack the ripper to try to invade our dimension.
In killing selfies Death himself appears and criticizes our way of living and “shining ” in social networks
Finally in Divine Musick dedicated to my muse we find a young lady, a “musick” who travels around the cosmos in searching for the ideal music and people.
And I was almost forgotten there’s a character called Introduction which remind us Fernando Pessoa, Pirandello and Unamuno’s characters. Those three are one of the source of my inspiration to this book.

New Hampton is bloodthirsty. The streets are a cesspool. Greed and corporate necessity rule the overcrowded city.

A mysterious doctor, his young protégé and a monstrous enforcer are playing gods, their wanton destruction going unchecked. The city’s Mayor seeks vengeance and believes the doctor’s work is the key to achieving redemption. These men will change the city forever, for better or worse remains to be seen.

Crime is rife on the streets and only a few brave, have-a-go heroes, seem willing to plunge themselves into the depths of depravity to intervene and, ultimately, save the city from forces it is seemingly oblivious to.

A handful of extraordinary individuals must decide where they fit in within the changing landscape of the indomitable city of New Hampton. Run? Hide? Fight? The ramifications of their decisions will echo throughout the city.

New Hamptoners look out for number one, slaves to the omnipresent man. Can the city survive this maelstrom or will the meddling powers-that-be doom everyone…

Q – So, what makes the Government Rain Mysteries special?

I’ve always enjoyed reading dark, mysterious books that leave me desperate for answers, and the Government Rain Mysteries are my interpretation of the macabre, urban, mystery genres.

I’ve forever been engrossed with science fiction that touches on the unexplainable, that baffles, intrigues and gets you turning to the next page hoping to find the answers. With The Government Rain Mysteries, I hope to leave the reader puzzled, gripped and, potentially, a little uneasy and questioning. How is that possible? Why are they doing that?

The Government Rain Mysteries are a brutal look at an urban setting with gruesome science fiction thrown in to leave the reader confused, gripped and potentially a little scared…
