Bio

A nurse by day, novelist by night, Elisabeth Hamill is happy to give her geeky imagination free reign and has sworn never to grow up and get boring. Her first novel, SONG MAGICK, won first in category for Teen Fantasy in the 2014 Dante Rossetti Awards for Young Adult Fiction. Its sequel, TRUTHSONG, was released in July 2016, and a third book in the Songmaker series will follow. Frequently under the influence of caffeinated beverages, she also writes as E.M. Hamill for an older audience in fantasy, science fiction, and LGBT fiction. Her short story, “All That Entails”, will be included in an anthology in early 2017 from Ninestar Press. She lives in the wilds of eastern suburban Kansas with her family and has never met Dorothy or Toto.

Song Maker Trilogy

Discover the magic of the Songmaker series! Young bard Telyn Songmaker’s musical talents are second only to her song magic: the ability to influence the emotions and actions of others with her music. Pursued by bounty hunters after a spell gone terribly wrong, Telyn meets Mithrais, a guardian of the deep Wood. He serves beings once revered as gods, now trapped by ancient spells. Her powers can save them and return magic to the realm. But love may prove the most unpredictable enchantment of all, and what else awakens with magic’s presence could destroy everything Telyn loves—including Mithrais. The Songmaker books begin with the award-winning SONG MAGICK, and continue in TRUTHSONG. A third, yet untitled book will conclude the Songmaker story arc.
