When Lucky Jamieson learns that her parents have been killed in a car crash on an icy road, she returns home to Snowflake, Vermont. Her grandfather Jack, an elderly Navy vet, has been struggling to keep her parent’s business, the By the Spoonful Soup Shop, afloat until Lucky can take over. Lucky’s not sure what to do. Should she stay in her hometown? Does she really want to run a restaurant? And what about her grandfather Jack, who seems to be showing signs of Alzheimer’s? Her doubts take a back seat when a winter tourist is found frozen to death behind the soup shop and Lucky’s chef is arrested for the murder. Even though her chef had a past history with the murder victim, Lucky is sure he’s innocent. She knows the only way to save her chef and her business is to solve the mystery herself.
