Myths shifts the focus of the story to the land of the Gracies, where a pastoral race of people have lived in isolation in their land of Platonia for centuries. When the magic that protects their land begins to fail, they are forced to search for the mythical Gemwings, giant sentient insects that maybe instrumental to the restoration of their well of life. Leaving Platonia, our reluctant adventurers, find themselves on a desperate journey to the Vale of the Magi attacked by brigands, determined to stop the Gracies at any cost. The book concludes, with a shift again to prince Darahil and his exile into the dark lor Magnar’s former realm, Plaga Erebus. Daerahil is helpless to prevent the slow murder and disappearance of his men, as he is unable to find the killer in the haunted shadows of the dark land. Daerahil comes face to face with a mythical dark creature, the Vagwar, who offers Daerahil a terrible choice, ally with the Vagwar, or fight it to the death.
