A Word from the Author
Valley of the Serpent is the seventh book by award-winning author, Alan Reynolds to be published by Fisher King. The original concept changed as I did more research from a basic adventure novel into a sweeping tale of under-hand dealings in the world of Uranium mining. Featuring Harry Bentham, a young geologist, the first two chapters deal with a near-death experience for him whilst on a field-trip in Derbyshire which shapes his life. He eventually gets head-hunted by an unscrupulous international mining company and the story follows his journey from its headquarters in Switzerland to the Northern Territories of Australia where his eyes are opened by a series of events that threatens his life. I found the research fascinating, learning about rock formations and the ecological issues caused by some mining industries – very relevant in today’s world of fracking. The book is now available and already has 4 five star reviews.
