Behind Those Eyes
Life on the streets of London

Know More
Two homeless men, a successful brother and sister, a woman falling in love, a man with family problems, a policeman and a whole lot of twists in this ‘sliding doors’ style novella. It’s a story about people and adversity, love, friendships, family, stigma and hope. Will you work out what they have in common? I wrote this realistic work of fiction hoping that it will help change people’s perspective on homeless people for the better. (Cut discrimination, beat stigma and create empathy)
A Word from the Author
‘Behind Those Eyes’ is a special book to me. I travelled into London to ensure I got the place names, the layout of roads and the visions of homeless people in keeping with current reality. I was also working as a therapeutic counsellor with homeless people at the time of writing. I worked with them for over a year, which was very humbling.
I feel that the poverty in the UK is often ignored, and not even thought about by many people, so I wanted to write a fiction story that was close to reality, but with a fictionalised story, so that I could spread the word.
There are two homeless men in this story, who live on the London streets, a brother and sister who are far from impoverished, a woman, a man with family issues and a policeman. But, are they connected in any way? Well, there’s a great twist to this story, so you will just have to read it to find out.
