A Word from the Author
The inspiration for Aeon Rises came to me from my many years of teaching middle and high school kids. I wanted to try writing a story about a teen who discovered his feelings of isolation and weirdness were due to the fact he actually was an alien from another planet. How would he react to learning the fate of all humanity depended on how quickly he could master his unrealized abilities? My thanks go to a group of 8th graders from Sky Vista Middle School in Aurora for helping me make the dialogue and reactions as real as possible.

Aeon Rises is a young adult science fiction novel that can be enjoyed by everyone. This is the fourth novel written by award-winning author Jim Cronin. This tale takes place in Aurora, Colorado, a suburb of Denver and quickly grows to include many other famous alien encounter locations in and out of Colorado where, as it turns out, the conspiracy theories about visiting aliens are not necessarily wrong. Written with the help of a class of actual eight grade students, the story tackles the problem of how a teenager who has been an outcast most of his life deals with the knowledge that only he has the ability to stop an alien invasion.
