Know More
Jordan Greenblatt, jazz bass player and private investigator, thought he had put diva drama and bad choices behind him a long time ago. But when a worried college student comes to him for advice, it sets off a chain of events that leads Jordan back to his old campus, working undercover to find a dangerously addictive new drug and the students or staff members who might be selling it. Jordan tries to solve a puzzle and save a life without losing himself in the bargain. The longer he stays, the more he wonders if he can get the answers he needs and still find his way back home.
A Word from the Author
Sometimes the only way to move forward is to take a step back. That’s what Jordan Greenblatt learns when a friend at his old college asks him to return to school, undercover, to figure out if there’s any truth to the rumors of a new, dangerous drug on campus—a drug that might have led to the death of a student who came to Jordan for help, and who Jordan didn’t take seriously.
After writing, “Cool for Cats,” which focused on Jordan wrestling with painful memories from high school, I thought about what should be next for him. He’s in a better place than he was at the beginning of the first book, but he’s still treading water, playing at being a grown-up. His bandmates are looking for some growth and change. His wife is looking for some growth and change. Will sending him back to college help him take the next step forward? Or will it give him an excuse to slide backwards?
