A Word from the Author

All writers know about character arcs. These measure the growth of a character(s) throughout a story. Writers are supposed to be in charge of their character(s) and show that growth through the action of their story. Since I was only writing one book, not three, I never gave any thought to Guinevere and Cedwyn’s character arcs beyond Guinevere: On the Eve of Legend, but those two did. I realized at the end of Guinevere: At the Dawn of Legend that I was no longer writing their story. They were. Separated by the body of water we know of as the English Channel, the risks Guinevere and Cedwyn took to fulfill their promises scared me, the writer. Fearing what would happen, I put the manuscript away for over two months and tried to figure out how to change the course of their story. I realized that I couldn’t and that I had to trust them as explicitly as they trusted each other. Readers will find themselves on the edge of their seats, biting their lips, and wringing their hands as they read the final installment of these two amazing characters. Trust, Loyalty, and Friendship form the cornerstones of not just Guinevere’s story, but also Cedwyn’s story.
