Henry Paul Brannigan: Stories Worth Tellin’
by Gary Clifton.
Blurb
Life ain’t easy in post-Civil War Texas, but the stalwart Henry Brannigan certainly makes his mark on the Old West. He upholds the law and defends the defenseless, seeking justice with a little bit o’ grit, some good old-fashioned gumption, and a strong moral center. Come alongside and sit for a spell…there are stories to be told. “Henry Paul Brannigan: Stories Worth Tellin'” by Gary Clifton is a short story collection published by Mannison Press, LLC.

A Word from the Author
Several years ago, one of the editors of Bewildering Stories—an Ezine of some renown, which has published seventy or so of my works—asked me if I could write a story about a western detective. I told him that I didn’t think there were any, actually, but set about considering ideas. Although I live in rural Texas, few Texans know much about western lore, or cowboys, or horses. Considerable research and Henry Paul Brannigan evolved.
A home-educated, bible-reading teetotaler, Brannigan is a Texas-Ranger based in Uvalde, Texas. He is supported by his in-your-face, politically ambitious wife, Elizabeth, and their son, Tad. Brannigan personifies the caliber of citizen-lawman with the steady nerve and raw courage to settle the Southwestern United States in the last half of the nineteenth century.
Originally written as thirteen standalone but chronological short stories, Mannison Press picked up the idea, ironed out the kinks, and created this volume.
