A grandmother’s gift usually bring happiness. Rosa’s gift: a very different story. Hearing the dead alienated her from classmates. Not good for a 15-year-old.
Many times very insistent, the dead cared little for her surroundings. They even bothered her in class. Dates? Forget that.
Then one day, he shows up in her room. An old dead guy. A really old famous dead guy. In living human form!
Thrilling story of battling good and evil in an ancient world.
A Word from the Author
Sons of the Sphinx was a work of love for me. The Ancient Worlds fascinate me as no other historical periods do. During our visit in 2008, I fell in love with everything Egypt. All these years after that visit, I can still vividly recall every day there and the ancient wonders we saw. When the Tutankhamen Exhibit came to Colorado in 2011, I went three times! I believe that’s when I decided to act upon an idea that had been deep inside my subconscious: write a story set in Ancient Egypt. I had learned so much about King Tut and his time, that I knew he had to be one of the main characters. His place or non-place in Egyptian history fascinated me along with the fact that while everyone knew where he was buried, the final resting place of his queen was and is still unknown. And so, the idea of finding her shaped the basic plot of the story. Plus, everyone knows a ghost needs a human counterpart: thus I gave Tut, Rosa.
