Bio
Cheryl Carpinello started writing after she retired from teaching high school English. “I just didn’t have any spare time to write while teaching.” In working with hundreds of students (ages 14-18) over 20+ years, she encountered many who just didn’t like to read. After discovering the appeal that Arthurian Legend had even for those students, she decided to write her own Arthurian stories for younger readers (ages 7-14) in the hope of stimulating their interest in reading. And so, her first book Guinevere: On the Eve of Legend was born. It has since expanded into a trilogy. “It’s always exciting to see kids’ faces light up when I mention that I write Arthurian Legend.” Cheryl also writes tales from the Ancient Worlds for PreTeen/YA readers. Her first two, Sons of the Sphinx and Tutankhamen Speaks, will soon be joined by her new series The Feathers of the Phoenix. She also has two pictures books, Grandma/Grandpa Tales 1 & 2, for toddlers and beginning readers (ages 2-6). Cheryl’s books have won numerous awards including the 2020 Moonbeam Book Bronze Award-Best Book Series Chapter Book for her Guinevere Trilogy.
