Bio
Carol Anne Douglas has edited periodicals and written many articles, particularly reviews of feminist books. She has reviewed more than 200 books and has interviewed a number of writers. She also has taught Women’s Studies at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
She is an avid fan of Shakespeare’s plays and of the Arthurian legends. Her latest fantasy novel, Merlin’s Shakespeare, is a young adult book that combines those passions. The wizard Merlin sends a teenage girl to Shakespeare’s world and the worlds of Shakespeare’s characters. Her novels Lancelot: Her Story and Lancelot and Guinevere are based on the Arthurian legends.
Carol Anne writes plays as well as novels. She belongs to a theater group, the Playwrights’ Collaborative. Some of her plays have been read by actors at the Writer’s Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Three have been read as part of the Playwrights’ Collaborative’s presentation at the Kennedy Center’s annual weekend for local playwrights.
She loves nature, especially bird watching. She visits the national parks often.
