Series of children’s books based around a golf course and golf equipment. Buggy is the lead character and the gang go on adventures. They come to life when all the golfers have gone home. Only 1 human knows about their existence, the Green keeper. Characters: Buggy – based on a golf buggy Tilly – based on a golf trolley Benny – based on a golf bag Ivy-Rake – based on a sand rake The Ball Brigade – 6 golf balls whom live in Benny’s pouch Troublesome Tees – a bunch of golf tees who always cause mischief Mr Flag – Mr Flag is actually 18 characters whom appears on every green, a grumpy old man Simon the Sand wedge – a sand wedge club Peter the pitching wedge – a pitching wedge club Donald the driver – a driver club Penny the putter – a putting club Green keeper Lewis

A Word from the Author

My inspiration to write this book of short stories come from my passion for the game of golf and my joy of reading stories to my children. I started to play golf many years ago and created my characters with made up stories I would tell to my children. I recently became a father again for the third time to Lewis, this reignited my love of story telling and inspired me to put my stories and characters in to word.

Firstly I searched the Internet for any information I could find on publishing and illustration creation. I found a publisher and submitted my work, after about 3 weeks I received a reply, they liked the book and wanted to publish the book but also wanted a contribution towards the costs. At this point I was unsure as to what was a reasonable amount to publish a book was, and I also did not have my illustrations professionally done at this point, I therefore declined their offer. I then came across Amazon KDP and found I could achieve the same results as offered by the publisher at no cost to myself, so decided to go with Amazon self publishing. My next step was to find an illustrator, I came across Fiverr and found a very good illustrator who was very happy to help me create my characters. Once all my illustrations were done and after adding them to the pages of my book, I had family and friends proof read it for me. Once any amendments were done, it was time to publish. Publishing was a very simple process once I had done my homework and understood dpi’s and bleeds. My book is now available to buy through Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats and both formats are selling. Profits are not my concern, I only want to entertain children through the medium of books and perhaps educate and inspire them in the game of golf.
