This is a children’s chapter book (8 through 12 yr olds) about a 9 year old boy named Branden, who is afraid of ghosts. When his babysitter doesn’t show up one afternoon things get a little scary for him. Then Ms Meriweather shows up and the afternoon takes a turn for the weird.
A Word from the Author
Branden’s Ghosts was inspired by Linda’s grandson. He knew GiGi and Papa owned a haunted house called Hill House Manor. He expressed a fear of ghosts and Linda thought that perhaps a ghost story that explores what else can seem to be ghosts but are simply noises or coincidents, would help him to accept some of the mysteries of Hill House Manor.
Branden’s Ghosts does exactly that. Branden is home alone after school and starts to think maybe his house has a ghost. Someone shows up to help him investigate and though it does turn out that there’s a ghost, it is a friendly one and Branden is comforted by it.
Linda had so many requests for more books about Branden that “Branden’s Ghost Hunters” is being released in June 2018. Book Three “The Monster Under the Bed” should be released by November or December of 2018.
If you have an 8 to 12 year old who loves ghost stories or who is afraid of ghosts, this is a great book and excellent series to get them reading chapter books.
