Know More

When Hazel disappears, the police are convinced that her husband, Alex, has killed her.

Three years after his conviction for murder, Alex and his sister, Alice, are devastated when their last appeal is rejected by the courts. With nowhere left to turn, Alice must start to put her life back together.

Living in limbo herself, Alice has a chance encounter with Steve, an ex-solider turned PI who offers to look at the case files. Steve is convinced that the prosecution’s case is shaky at best, but can he find out the truth before it’s too late for Alex?

A Word from the Author

Author Roger Bray pictureBrooke Adams has had a miserable childhood growing up in homes and fosters. She leaves her last foster home and travels to Salem, Oregon, because she liked the name. After a few days, bordering on destitute she is found by an old shopkeeper who takes a liking to her and offers her somewhere to stay and a job. Brooke settles into her new life and after a couple of years she is studying at the local community college. She has good friends, a surrogate father in Nico, the shopkeeper, and the relief of recently dumping her no-good boyfriend. Brooke can see a bright future ahead until she goes to the Coast to get away for the weekend and is attacked and buried alive on the beach. Recovering, Brooke refuses to be a victim and is determined to put the whole episode behind her until she approached by a PI, ex-cop, who tells her he believes her attacker has been done this before. Brooke is intrigued and is determined to help find her attacker, but before she realises she and her friends are drawn into a web of lies and murder stretching back over thirty years, putting them all in danger.
