A Word from the Author
Walt Disney World has been a special place in my life. Losing my mom when I was only three years old caused a childhood of heartache and pain for me and my siblings. One of the few refuges we had in our lives was the magic and wonder of Disney movies and books. At age fourteen, I was able to visit for the first time and felt I was finally home
I’ve raised my own children with the love of all things Disney. But much like the main character, Sophie, my husband didn’t start as a fan. Our children and I wore him down over time and now I must say, he is 100% on board the Disney train.
When my daughter had her wedding in the Disney Wedding Pavilion, we made numerous trips for planning purposes. Even though some of the trips were made after the wedding, we still attributed the need to visit our favorite vacation destination to “wedding planning.”
On one of those trips, the idea came to me for this book. I wanted to share my love of Disney as a place of healing with others, who may feel as I do, that it truly is “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
