A Word from the Author

Tales of the Starmen explores the relationship between two brothers and its effect on the world around them. My desire to write this story stems from my fascination with opposites and equals. The brothers, Helion and Eckron, have different upbringings and expectations, thus creating a source of friction between them that is only exacerbated by their royal positions in the ‘Solarium Empire’. I was particularly interested in writing a space opera that takes a slight twist on the tropes and conventions associated with medieval fantasy stories. The first volume not only serves as an introduction to key characters, but lays down important groundwork for the universe it is set in, thus ensuring a sense of familiarity before the next volume is released.
