The stories are so wild and varied, one would have to read the tome carefully to realise that in many of these stories the same man crops up again and again. A man with dark skin and storm-grey eyes, whose appearances span centuries. And whenever he turns up he appears to be looking for something…..

Evergreen was written by Sam Russell during the lockdown of 2020. Before the pandemic, Sam was a jobbing stand-up comedian. Writing this story has served both as a creative outlet and an opportunity to turn his hand at something he’s always wanted to do: fantasy writing. When the book was finished, daunted by the closed shop that was traditional publishing, Sam decided to get his story out another way – in an audio serial. Sam’s mother, the woman who had read him his first fantasy stories as a child, is the British actress Catherine Russell. Together, with Sam’s words and Catherine’s voice, they have made Evergreen. They hope you enjoy it.
