Bio
Catherine Fearns is a music journalist from the UK, and Reprobation is her debut novel. The book is based on the concept of predestination, which had always fascinated her since she studied history at Oxford University. Predestination is the theological doctrine that all events have been willed by God, and in particular that humans have no control over whether they are destined for heaven (the elect) or hell (the reprobate).
A detective story began to form around this concept, and since Catherine is a heavy metal fan who grew up in Liverpool, it was perhaps inevitable that metal and Merseyside would feature largely in the book too.
Reprobation is the first in a unique series of thrillers filled with dark themes and irresistible characters.
