Sylvie aspires to write a romance novel, but gives up after several tries because she knows nothing of romance. With the help of her best friend, she signs up for a popular dating site to find a man to seduce her and teach her about passion – certain this will help her write her book. While Sylvie dreams of the steamy scenes she thinks are necessary for a good romance novel, her unintentionally comical dates fall far short of her expectations.
A Word from the Author
Aspiring writer Sylvie tries, and fails, to write a romance novel. Realizing she knows nothing of romance, she joins an online dating site to meet men for research. Laugh at her hilariously bad dates, and find out if she learns enough about love to write her book, or if she finds love for her own life.
Sylvie’s story was inspired by true events — after hearing about how much money readers spend on romance novels, even bad ones, I tried to write one. And failed. While I didn’t join an online dating service for research, I found the idea so funny I had to write the book. People ask if the dating scenes are based on dates I’ve been on — I’ll leave that up to your imagination!
