The Soup Lovers’ Mysteries
I’ve always been a lover of village mysteries, and I’m so delighted that my village mystery series is set in New England. This culinary cozy series came to be because first of all, I love making soups and I’m from New England originally. It was great fun to set the Soup Lovers’ Mysteries in the fictional town of Snowflake, Vermont, population 953, give or take a few new arrivals and a few murders.
Lucky Jamieson, my protagonist, returns home to Snowflake, Vermont when she learns of the accidental death of her parents. Years before, she had been determined to escape her small hometown, but now, heartbroken by her loss, she’s at a crossroads in life. Her grandfather Jack, with the help of the restaurant’s excellent chef, has been struggling to keep the family business, the By the Spoonful Soup, afloat. He sincerely hopes that Lucky will decide to stay and run the restaurant. At first, Lucky’s not sure what her next move in life will be, but as fate would have it, her girlhood crush is still in town and romance is in the wind.
