A Word from the Author

The tenth book in the Shadows from the Past series takes a darker turn, sending the three time-travelling youngsters and their talking Tonkinese cat, Max, on an urgent mission to rescue two boys who have been imprisoned in the Tower of London by their uncle who, having stolen the throne from his elder nephew, is soon to be crowned King Richard III. The year is 1483, at the end of a period in English history known as The Wars of the Roses.

Fraught with danger, this is a daunting task for the intrepid foursome, especially when Joe Lancelot and his best friend, Charlie, must risk their own lives to save the two princes. Aided by Dr Argentine, the princes’ physician, they hatch a plot, but it will place them in considerable danger. Meanwhile, the mysterious Guardians of Time, the shadowy group who have been guiding the travellers’ footsteps have an undercover agent on the inside of the Tower who has been sent to keep an eye on the proceedings, but the only problem is that he is disguised as one of the famous Tower ravens, much to Max’s consternation!

Will their mission succeed? Only time will tell…
