A Christmas tale with a difference! Have you ever wondered what happens to your Christmas decorations when you pack them away at the end of the festive season? Can you imagine the scene if they came to life, together with the discarded toys in an old toy box? Now, throw a large cat who’s got himself trapped in the attic into the mix and you have a recipe for complete and utter mayhem…

This is precisely what occurred when Max the talking Tonkinese cat let his curiosity get the better of him one evening and followed the Lancelot twins’ uncle up into the attic. The large feline, unnoticed by Uncle Richard, made the mistake of falling asleep and awoke later to find himself in darkness as the clock struck midnight… but he was not alone.

Peopled by a whole host of characters, including the grumpy Christmas tree fairy, the irascible Colonel Nutcracker, the entire cast of the Twelve Days of Christmas, and Uncle Richard’s old Action Man doll, to name but a few, this story provides a comic interlude in the Shadows from the Past series, as Max enlists them all to help him escape.
